Elland-based Boxford Ltd. was recently presented with the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade by the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Dr Ingrid Roscoe, who is the Queen’s representative in the county. Boxford received the Queen’s official Grant of Appointment and a commemorative crystal bowl as well as the Queen’s Award for Industry flag now proudly flying outside their recently completed purpose-built premises on Dewsbury Road in Elland.

I also recently joined many businesses and budding entrepreneurs at an event organised by Inspired IQ at the Elsie Whitely Innovation Centre to mark Global Entrepreneurship Week. This is just one of the government’s initiatives which aims to help more people have the opportunity, aspiration and motivation to use their talent and enterprise to start up in business.

It is incredibly gratifying to see Calder Valley and Calderdale lead the way in business growth and success.
