I was delighted to attend the opening of former Borough market stall holder Phil Crossley’s new project.

Phil, a familiar Halifax face to many, has linked up with Calderdale College, to give students of animal welfare an opportunity for some real experience on his farm.

They will have the chance to learn about a whole range of rural issues, animal welfare, and farming. It has only taken Phil a few months to get the project off the ground. He is widely missed around the Borough Market, but this project will benefit hundreds of students and is a welcome initiative and credit to his hard work and that of Calderdale College.
