A YOUNG TV actor passed on his tip tips for success when he visited young Calderdale performers.

Jack McMullen, who plays Finn Sharkey in BBC 1 drama Waterloo Road, spent a morning at Lumieres Performing Arts Academy at Rastrick High School passing on advice and answering questions about show business.

The 20-year-old, who is originally from Liverpool, and has also appeared in The Bill, Brookside and Grange Hill, said: “I tell them to believe in themselves because you get a lot of negative feedback and a lot of nos in this business.

“You’ve just got to keep going,” he added.

Joanne Storrs, who runs the academy, said: “It’s been really inspiring for them to have Jack here.”
