CHILDREN at a Halifax school were guests of honour at a mocked-up royal wedding.
Two members of staff at Beech Hill Junior and Infant School, on Mount Pleasant Avenue, volunteered to be the royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton as they were “married” by a vicar.
Rev James Allison, of Mytholmroyd – who is married to a teacher at the school – performed the ceremony between Year 4 teacher Samantha Bowling and the school’s computer expert Richard Hodgson.
Every pupil at the school came dressed in posh wedding outfits to enjoy the day.
Year one teacher Abigail Banks said: “The children took part as wedding guests and absolutely loved it. It was really good.
“We also held a competition to design a big card for the royal couple and a winner was chosen.
“Everyone signed the winning card and we will be sending that to London.”
