Over 2,000 residents Ripponden were left without power yesterday.
The fault, which was reported at 12.15pm, was caused after an overhead line collapsed and meant 2,077 homes were left without electricity.
By 3pm all but 39 home had full power restored and the remaining properties were back on the grid by 8.45pm.
A spokesperson for Northern Power Grid said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience. The problem couldn’t be avoided and we did all we could to get the power back on as quickly as we possibly could.”
One resident Jane Doherty Tweeted: “Thanks northern power grid for letting me know power should be back on by 8pm. Only 8 hours without electricity.”
