Overgate Hospice at Elland has declared its third 10k run as its best yet after more than 420 runners took part in the race.
Some dressed up as nuns, clowns and in grass skirts for the event, which started at St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School before taking the participants through Elland town centre.
There were also competitors from local running clubs including the Stainland Lions and the Halifax Harriers, while more than 40 volunteers also helped marshall the event.
Laura Golding, appeals manager from the hospice, said: “We had a target of £15,000 which we will hopefully exceed.
“It went really well, despite the windy conditions, lots of people took part and we had lots of volunteers so it was a brilliant atmosphere.
“It’s the third year we’ve held it and it was the best yet - we’ll definitely be doing it again next year.
“The money raised will be put to good use at the hospice.”
