Owner of shop in Southowram fined for selling alcohol to two teenagers

A SHOP OWNER has been fined for selling alcohol to two teenagers.

Nagi Sarandeep, 31, owner of Sam’s Mini Market, Southowram, was caught as part of police test purchases.

Sarandeep admitted selling to the youngsters, aged 13 and 14.

He told Calderdale Magistrates Court: “At the time I was in conversation with another customer.

“I have never failed a test purchase before. I should have known better.”

Magistrates fined him £550 and ordered he pay £85 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
