STAFF from a Halifax insurance company escaped the office and donned their overalls to help transform a school playground.

Foundation pupils at Lee Mount Primary School watched as volunteers from Provident painted a mural on the wall outside their classroom.

The colourful design features canopied shop fronts, a mechanic’s area with diesel and petrol pumps, and a garden.

There are also two slithering snakes that help the three to five-year-olds with their numeracy and the alphabet.

The staff also gave a shed a fresh lick of paint.

Teacher Helen Farrar said everyone at the school, in Lee Mount, Halifax, was delighted with the result.

She said: “The children really like it and they really enjoyed watching it being done. It just makes it so much better.”

The project was part of Provident’s community involvement programme.
