Police probe into unexplained death after man's body found in Halifax field

A police cordon was put in place around Gibbet street after the discovery was made yesterday afternoon.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to a field next to Gibbet Street yesterday at around 3.50pm to a report of the body of a male being found.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"A post mortem is due to take place today."
