Piece Hall gearing up for Christmas lights switch-on

The Piece Hall will host a fantastic Christmas lights switch-on today.

The festivities will last throughout the afternoon with plenty to keep the whole family entertained.

Dance and musical performances will light up the stage inside the Piece Hall before fireworks are set off from theroof of the neighbouring Orangebox centre.

Neil Hurst, star of this year’s pantomime, Dick Whittington, at the Victoria Theatre, will switch on the lights in Halifax town centre assisted by Father Christmas himself.

The full running order for the afternoon is:

12.45pm LW Danceworks

1.15pm Bazzmatazz

1.45pm Danceworks

2pm Psychoslinkys

3.30pm Square Chapel Cube Choir

4pm Halifax Amateurs

4.15pm Panto star Neil Hurst

4.30pm Christmas lights switch-on and fireworks

Afterwards entertainment will spread out into the town with events planned at Westgate Arcade, the Woolshops and Halifax Borough Market.
