Plea for charity trustees

A charity has issued a plea for volunteers to help continue their work of supporting young families in Calderdale.

Home-Start Calderdale bosses have said they need more trustees after recognising a skills gap on their Board.

They are looking for people with skills in marketing, legal matters and events planning.

An open day will be held at Home-Start’s new office in Holmfield Mills, Holdsworth House, on Thursday March 7 from 6pm to 8pm, with wine and nibbles.

A DVD will be shown to explain the role of a Home-Start trustee and the opportunity to talk to exising trustees and staff.

Home-Start Calderdale has been providing emotional and practical support to young families for 13 years.

The Board of Trustees provides governance, guidance and financial control over the work the charity.

It won the Trustee Board of the Year award at the Calderdale Business and Community Awards in 2011.
