Calling all kind-hearted trades people! You are need for a TV show which will help transform the lives of a Sowerby Bridge family.

DIY SOS: The Big Build, the BAFTA-nominated BBC show, is coming to Sowerby Bridge on Monday June 18.

The show, hosted by TV star Nick Knowles, will be helping the family of little eight-year-old Joshua Martina-Hopkins.

The youngster was left brain-damaged after being struck down by a sickness and diarrhoea bug shortly after his first birthday.

He now requires round-the-clock support and care, with the help of his family mum Michelle, dad Michael and sister Danielle.

A BBC film crew will swoop on the family’s house on Monday to film an ambitious - and top secret - two-week DIY project on their home.

Show bosses have issued an urgent plea for any kind-hearted trades people willing to be part of the show and donate their time and skills to the family between Monday June 18 and Wednesday June 27.

They’re after carpenters, electricians, plumbers, plasteres, or anyone who can recommend people in the trade to get in touch.
