VOLUNTEERS are needed to help paint Calderdale yellow for Marie Curie’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal.
All money raised by the sale of daffodils in Calderdale will go towards the Courier appeal to raise £80,000 for our Marie Curie nurses.
Charity bosses said the Daffodil Appeal relies heavily on the support of volunteers and appealed to local folk to help out.
People need just give up one or two hours of their time, particularly in the Todmorden and Hebden Bridge areas on March 5, where volunteers are desperately needed to raise funds.
Marie Curie community fund-raiser Helen Rowlands said: “It is absolutely vital that we get as many volunteers as possible to maximise the amount raised from these collections.
“So if you can donate an hour or two of your time, please get in touch and help us to continue the work we do - we really appreciate your support.”
Marie Curie nurses provide care for terminally-ill patients, allowing them to end their days at home rather than in hospital.
