Police appeal after 50-year-old man hit by car in Huddersfield

A 50-year-old man has been left with a serious head injury after he was struck by a vehicle in Huddersfield this morning (Saturday).

The incident occured at around 1.15am when the man was hit by a car as he crossed Queen Street.

PC David Long, from West Yorkshire Police’s Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support team, said: “The pedestrian was struck by a silver coloured Toyota Avensis private hire vehicle as he crossed Queen Street, close to the Tokyo nightclub.

“The pedestrian suffered a head injury in the incident and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he receiving treatment for injuries that are not considered to be life threatening.

“At the time of the collision there will have been a number of people in the local area and I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police.”
