Police are appealing for information after a delievry driver was attacked with a metal bar at around 12.30am on Sunday, May 3 on Manchester Road in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield.

Detective Constable Richard Brooke, of the Kirklees Robbery Team, said: “A delivery driver for a local takeaway was delivering to a nearby address when he was approached by three white male youths who asked him if he had their order.

“One of the youths asked how much the order was, and when the delivery driver told him, he went into his pocket, giving the impression that he was getting money out to pay.

“One of the other youths then produced a metal bar and hit the delivery driver on his left arm demanding that he gave him the food.

“He hit the delivery driver again, then the youths grabbed the food and ran off, turning right onto Bowling Street.”

The victim suffered bruising to his left arm and DC Brooke is urging anyone with any information about the incident to contact him at Kirklees Robbery Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
