Police are concerned for the welfare of a 16-year-old girl who has not been seen for over a week.

Leah Gates lives in Huddersfield but is originally from the Wakefield/Featherstone area.

She was last seen at 5.30pm on Wednesday, 4 February, at Wakefield College and it is believed that she is still in the Wakefield area.

She is described as white, 5ft 5ins tall, of stocky build, with blonde, shoulder-length hair which she tends to wear tied up in a messy bun.

She was last seen wearing a blue zip-up hooded top, black leggings and pumps.

PC Karen Truelove, of the Missing Persons Unit, said: “While the last confirmed sighting of Leah was over a week ago, she had been keeping daily contact with her carers.

“This contact has stopped over the last few days and we would urge anyone who has seen Leah or who has information about her whereabouts to call the Missing Persons Unit at Dewsbury Police Station on 101.”
