Police investigating the death of a man at a house in Bradford have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

Officers arrested a 42-year-old man in Bradford at about 8pm yesterday (Thursday) in connection with the incident, which occurred in Great Horton Road in the early hours of Thursday morning. He remains in custody today.

A postmortem confirmed that the victim, who was 23 and from Slovakia, died from a single stab wound.

Meanwhile, detectives are appealing for information about a dark coloured taxi which was carrying a female passenger and was travelling down Great Horton Road at the time of the incident.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Mark McManus, of Protective Services (Crime), said: “We are particularly keen to speak to the male driver and female passenger of this taxi, which was travelling down Great Horton Road at about the same time as the incident.

“It was flagged down by a witness before it continued towards the city centre. Given the time at which it stopped it is possible the driver or passenger may have seen the suspect and we are very keen to speak to them as potentially significant witnesses.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who was in Great Horton Road between 3am and 3.30am on Thursday, as it is possible they may have seen something which could prove important to our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
