Police investigate burglary at mosque in Huddersfield

POLICE are investigating a burglary at a mosque in Huddersfield.

Several hundreds of pounds in cash have been taken from Masjid Umar Mosque on Blacker Road in Birkby.

Officers say a man who was chatting with other attendees at the mosque is believed to have gone to a private office and broken in, stealing the money.

The suspect was described as Asian, wearing a grey top and dark bottoms and carrying a distinctive blue top.

Anyone with information about the break-in between 2pm and 4pm on Friday, March 2 should call police via 101.
