Police investigate hate crime after racist graffiti daubed on bus stop

RACIST graffiti has been daubed on a bus stop and electricity sub-station in Luddenden Foot.

Due to the racist nature of the graffiti, the upper valley neighbourhood policing team are treating the incident as a hate crime and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Acting Sgt Helen McCorry said: “Thankfully incidents like these are rare and the council cleaned up the graffiti the following morning. But the Calder Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team will not tolerate such crimes and are taking positive action to trace the offenders.

“We are therefore also appealing for anyone with information to contact the Calder Valley NPT via 101 or calderdale.npt@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk,” she said.

The incident took place overnight on Monday, November 29, on Burnley Road at the junction with Station Road and Luddenden Lane in the Luddenden Foot area.
