Police in Halifax are urging people visiting Calderdale Royal Hospital to park legally.
Recently a number of tickets have been handed out to motorists parking in the Skircoat area, and in particular the Green Park estate after residents there voiced their concerns to officers.
Parking on the estate is for residents and their visitors only - something confirmed with a sign on each entrance to it.
But some motorists have been claiming they did not know the parking was for residents and their visitors only.
Sergeant Ian Hardy said: “Ignorance of the law is no excuse. There are no double yellow lines on the roads but there are signs on the entrances.
“Residents are understandably annoyed at people parking on the estate if they are in the area to go to the hospital or are in the area for other reasons.
“We have already given out a number of tickets and will continue to do so.”
