Two men were chased down by police officers in Hebden Bridge following a police car pursuit that resulted in a Land Rover flipping onto its roof.

Police officers on patrol sighted a Land Rover Defender travelling through Todmorden centre that had been stolen from the Halifax area over night on Monday.

The driver of the Land Rover began overtaking cars at speed once the police began to follow vehicle.

A pursuit followed taking officers around Todmorden, Bacup and Blackshaw Head before the Land Rover crashed whilst travelling down Mytholm Steeps in Hebden Bridge.

Two male occupants ran from the crashed vehicle but with the assistance of the police helicopter the pair were detained by officers nearby and arrested.

Both males remain in custody at Halifax Police Station as detectives continue to investigate.
