Police’s warning over big freeze

DRIVERS are being warned to make sure they are properly prepared for the sub-zero temperatures expected over the coming days.

Sergeant Paul Denton, from the Western Area Roads Policing Team, is urging motorists to take extra care and ensure they have with them warm clothing, appropriate footwear, a flask of warm liquid and a shovel.

Temperatures are expected to plummet to -2 degrees celsius tonight.

The met Office say a mixture of rain, sleet and snow crossing Yorkshire is expected to turn to snow on Monday.

The sub-zero temperatures are expected to last all next week.
