Police search for man in connection with assault on woman

Officers have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to in relation to an assault with a weapon in Halifax.

The incident took place on Friday November 9, at around 10am, as the female victim was walking along Hopwood Lane towards Halifax town centre.

She was hit on the back of the head with an object and when she turned round a man spoke to her in what she though was an Eastern European language.

The victim left towards Halifax town centre and was treated in hospital for a minor head injury.

The suspect is described as a white man in his thirties, 5’8” of a medium build and he had quite a thick dark moustache. He was wearing a black woollen hat, a black zipped up jacket and black trousers. He had a dark coloured rucksack on his back and was possibly Eastern European.
