Hundreds of people attended the Armed Forces Day in Halifax to pay tribute to our heroes.
People lined the streets of Halifax as the parade set off from Halifax Town Hall to the Piece Hall. People stood on looking proud as they marched through the centre of the town.
At the Piece Hall, Mayor of Calderdale, Ann Martin, addressed the crowds. She said it was a chance for people to “show their support, their gratitude, recognition and appreciation for those that did serve and are serving and will be serving the future”.
She said: “It is only right we remember them not only today but every day and value what they do for us.”
She added that it was important that we look after each person. “It is our job to continue to support them,” she said. “I am honoured and proud to join the people of Calderdale to say a big thank you to the armed forces past, present and future.”
