Recent changes to car parking charges in Calderdale could be reversed at Calderdale Council’s annual budget meeting on Monday.
The measure forms part of an alternative budget put together by a Liberal Democrat and Conservative coalition.
Conservative leader Stephen Baines (Northowram and Shelf) said: “The introduction of evening parking charges is already starting to have an adverse affect - smaller businesses have been hit hard.
“The evening trade in Halifax town centre has suffered immensely - I’ve had so many complaints from business owners and members of the public who can’t believe what’s happened - it’s absolutely ludicrous.”
The changes could be passed at Calderdale Council’s annual budget meeting at Halifax Town Hall on Monday, February 24 as Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition could wield a majority vote over Labour,
