The inquest into the deaths of two soldiers from Yorkshire is due to start today.

The soldiers, Sergeant Gareth Thursday of Bradford, and Private Thomas Wroe of Huddersfield, were killed by a rogue Afghan policeman at a checkpoint in Helmand Province on September 15 last year.

The two men - both from the 3rd Battalion, The Yorkshire Regiment - went to assist an apparently injured man dressed in an Afghan police uniform.

The inquest will take place at Oxford Coroner’s Court.
