A PUB co-operative group has been given a helping hand by Camra.

The Fox Friends, of Heptonstall Road, Hebden Bridge, are running a trip to the Calderdale Camra Mayfest beer festival.

“Benevolent Barrels” of beer have been donated by breweries in support of the group’s bid to buy out the Fox and Goose real ale pub.

Calderdale Camra have invited the Fox Friends to the festival at Square Chapel, Halifax, where the beer will be sold.

Up to 50 Fox and Goose regulars and supporters will be able to attend the festival on Saturday as Camra’s special guests.

They will depart the pub at 3 pm and the Fox Friends Benevolent Bar will open from around 4 pm.

Drew Magiera, of the Fox Friends steering group, said he was delighted with the link-up with Camra.

“The Fox Friends and Camra have a common goal to ensure we keep alive the traditional British pub, offering good quality real ale to local communities,” he said.

Tickets for the beer bus cost £3 and include free entry to the festival for the Fox Friends party.

Further information is available from the Fox and Goose bar.
