A pair of local licensees had an extra romantic St Valentine’s Day when they tied the knot in Halifax yesterday.
Kathryn Hepworth, 63, and Dean Scargill, 60, who run the Shears Inn, Paris Gates, Halifax, chose February 14 as their wedding day and said their vows in front of family and friends at Halifax Register Office.
They then held a small celebration at Le Metro in town but are planning a bigger bash at the Albany Club in Halifax at the weekend.
Kathryn said: “We’ve been together 15 years and thought after such a long trial, we would finally do it. We thought getting married on Valentine’s Day would be romantic. We’re normally working on that day so I thought it would be nice.”
