More than 20 pubs and 10 breweries in Calderdale are celebrating winning approval from beer drinkers.
They have all made it into the Campaign for Real Ale Good Beer Guide 2013.
The surprising number of breweries reflects the growing popularity of micro-breweries which are successfully providing ales for regional pubs.
Sowerby Bridge provides the best option for a pub crawl with five pubs in the guide and four of those are close to the town centre.
Halifax also has five entries but only two in the town centre.
And, the Puzzle Hall Inn, has a double reason to celebrate as it is also Camra’s pub-of-the-season in the Halifax and Calderdale branch area.
Licensee Simon Stather said it was great to be recognised and he tried to provide a good all-round atmosphere in addition to quality beers.
“Camra commented on the atmosphere,” he said.
“We are a community pub in the centre of Sowerby Bridge.”
The pub is a popular music venue and it recently introduced Thai food nights.
