pupils with a talent for drama from Catholic schools across Calderdale performed a special showcase of their skills.
St Joseph’s School in Halifax hosted a day for pupils who are gifted and talented in performing arts in the Catholica cluster of schools.
Years five and six pupils from St Malachy’s, St Patrick’s in Elland, Sacred Heart in Sowerby Bridge and St Mary’s in Halifax took part along with gifted and talented pupils at St Joseph’s, where teacher Craig Dinniwell organised the day.
Deputy headteacher Linda Brown said: “The children did workshops during the day, with singing, movement and dance, culminating in a 15 minute showcase to the rest of the school and staff from the other schools. It was along the teme of being a good friend and friendships. It was very sucessful. The children really enjoyed it.”
The cluster take it in turns to host the gifted and talented days in different subject areas.
