Red carpet opening for Bond tonight

Hundreds of people are expected to pack out the Vue Cinema in Halifax tonight for the grand opening.

The big day will be marked by the screening of the new James Bond film Skyfall, which is released nationally today.

The cinema complex, which has nine screens, will show Skyfall for the first time this afternoon at 2pm.

It will be an historic day for Halifax, which celebrates the return of the big screen to the town for the first time in 10 years.

Madagascar, Taken 2 and Paranormal Activity 4 will all be shown in screens today.

Therr will also be a red tape cutting ceremony at around 6pm tonight.
