Rescue operation after cyclist thrown 30ft into river.

A MASSIVE rescue operation was launched after a cyclist catapulted over a bridge and fell 30 feet into a river last night.

The woman was cycling down Huddersfield Road when she hit the curb and was thrown over Elland Bridge.

Fire crews and paramedics were called at around 6.45pm to help the woman.

She was taken to hospital with injuries to her head, ribs and elbow.
