Ripponden has been busy showing it’s ready to welcome the Tour de France by displaying yellow bikes around the village.
The world famous race will travel through Ripponden on Sunday, July 6 and up to 20,000 people are expected to watch it go by on Ripponden Bank.
Corrine Kielty, from the Le Tour Ripponden group, is encouraging people in the village to bring even more colour to the build-up to the Grand Depart.
She said: “Ripponden is hugely proud to be on the route of the Tour de France and to celebrate we’re making Ripponden yellow to welcome the arrival of the race.
“Homes and businesses are displaying yellow bicycles in all shapes and sizes.
“Other residents and businesses can get involved by planting yellow flowers outside their house or putting out yellow bunting or balloons on the day of the race.
“We hope that everyone will also wear yellow on race day and make Ripponden Bank really stand out on television.
“We have some amazing cycling in Ripponden and the district and we would like make Ripponden a memorable place to encourage the wider public to come back year after year and enjoy the cycling.”
