Businessman Keir Tweddle is getting on his bike and cycling around 350 miles from Paris to London.

He sets off on the Help for Heroes Big Battlefield Bike Ride in May which travels through northern France paying respects at memorials for WW1/2 fallen soldiers.

It finishes at the Cenotaph in London.

Keir has already raised £1,400 in sponsorship for Help for Heroes which supports wounded servicemen and women and is hoping for more.

The 30-year-old is now in training for the six-day challenge.

“It is for a good cause and it’s a challenge for me,” he said.

“I enjoy cycling but have done nothing to this extent but thought I would give it a go.”

The event is likely to involve 250 cyclists.

Help for Heroes said the Big Battlefield Bike Ride is not just a tough physical challenge but an emotional one too which shows support for our wounded and helps with their recovery.

Keir is sales director at Wood Floor Gallery, Ripponden Business Park.
