Roads are beginning to reopen following an earlier police incident in Halifax.

Police stopped traffic on roads around the town centre over fears for a man’s safety.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.50pm, where a man, thought to be in his 20s, was stuck on a steep embankment near the Charlestown Road junction.

Traffic is still slow around the area as a result. There are reports of slow traffic in inbound between the A647 Haley Hill junction and the Burdock Way junction.

Congestion is also causing problems on Hough to the Kell Lane junction.
