PONIES were put through their paces at two equestrian competitions.

Around 80 horses were entered into in-hand and ridden classes at Norland Show, at Shore Lane Fields.

It had qualifiers for the Premier Riding Club Championships, the Veteran Horse Society Championships and the Equifest Showing Show.

Barkisland’s Jade Jennings was named show champion.

Scores more riders entered Shibden Dale Riding Club’s show at Royd Farm, Northowram, which was a qualifier for Ponies UK.

Show secretary Doreen Kent said bad weather had affected the turnout, but added: “Everybody enjoyed it and most people got the qualifying cards they were looking for so we had a lot of happy competitors.”
