Rugby League: Duo rewarded
TWO members of Halifax Referees' Society have won RFL Young Volunteer awards.
Danny Tindall, 20, took the honour in Halifax for his work organising match officials for local schools and his role as fixture secretary for the West Riding Youth League.
Rebecca Whiteley, 18, won the Bradford award for her coaching at schools in Keighley but referees the majority of her games in Calderdale. Becky is also the service area representative for the referees' society.
Halifax Society development officer Phil Huck said: "This is an excellent example of youngsters putting something into the game beyond refereeing. They are a credit to our society and the schools, leagues and clubs they support."
