Rugby League: Siddal sweep 'Bury away

SIDDAL under eights played Queensbury and came away with a 48-16 win.

Thomas Holroyd was first over the try line after which Morgan Smithies crossed following fine runs from Connor Taylor and Charlie Nendick.

Queensbury replied with a try of their own before a great offloadby William Scrimshaw set up Holroyd to score his second for a Siddal 12-4 half-time lead

Siddal came out in the second half stronger with quick tries from Liam Whitton, Oliver Lewis and Lewis Hirst.

Great defence from Morgan Smithies and Harry Georgiou kept Queensbury out, only for them to dive over from acting half back.

Connor Shanks scored Siddal's next try, with Oliver Waite next over before a Scrimshaw pass set up Holroyd for his third try followed by scores from Whitton and Georgiou.

Queensbury replied with two tries but Holroyd completed the victory with his fourth.
