The Piece Hall will be transformed into an urban cycle track when it hosts a spectacular cycling event.
The Morvelo Cyclo Cross will take over the Piece Hall on Saturday, November 9 with a series of knock out rounds for cyclists of all ages before a floodlit finale.
There will be races for under 8s, under 10s, under 12s, Youth & Junior, Women, Novice, Senior men and V40 men.
Emma Osenton, from Pennine Prospects, who has helped organise the event, said: “We ran the inaugural event at Shroggs Tip in March.
“The buzz was amazing, people came from all over the country to race.
“But this has never happened in a grade one listed building in the UK.
“Cyclists will get to race over a scaffold bridge, hurdles, sand, the stage itself and a spiral of doom.
“Then the finals will run down the colonnade with all the flood lights on before rejoining the original race route.”
Entry is now open at www.citycross.co.uk.
