MORE than 70 guests piled into Bertie’s for a charity fashion show.

Sam Bromwich, 17, organised the dress-to-impress fashion show in Elland to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The show included all-night entertainment and a charity raffle, as well as a two-course meal.

Sam, who goes to Leeds City College, wanted to raise money for Cancer Research UK because her dad, auntie and gran had all been diagnosed with cancer.

She then came up with the idea of a fashion show after seeing several organised at college.

Her mum, Julie Bromwich, said: “She wants to go into events management and decided that organising the fashion show would be a good experience for her.

“She went to several shops in Halifax and in Brighouse to get the clothes for the fashion show and got her friends to be the models. She really did organise everything.

Julie said the guests enjoyed the evening.

“The people who we spoke to afterwards said they thought it was really good,” she said.

“I’m so proud of her, she’s done fantastically well.”

Although the final figure is still being calculated, Julie said she thought the event raised £1,500.
