The saucy art of burlesque is continuing to gather fans across Calderdale.

Several nights of entertainment are planned for the forthcoming weeks and the first ever Hebden Bridge Burlesque Festival will be held in May next year.

Heidi Bang Tidy, who will be performing as part of a new stripping morris dancer duo Marjoreen in Halifax on Saturday night, said the popularlity of burlesque is spreading.

“There’s quite a number of performers along the M62 corridors so a lot of different acts to choose from,” she said.

The Tidy and Tips Cabaret Night takes place at Arden Road Social Club in Halifax on Saturday. It will feature performances from Maisie Martini, Daisy Cutter, Morning Starr, Havana Hurricane as well as live music from The Phenomenotes, best-dressed prizes and bingo. Doors open at 7.30pm. A Tidy and Tips ‘What’s for Supper?’ Club, with a three-course meal and burlesque show, takes place on Saturday, Decemebr 22 at 7.30pm at The Meeting Room in Elland.
