Children from Calderdale’s only special high school sang their hearts out in Halifax’s Harveys department store.

Harveys cosmetics department invited children from Halifax’s Ravenscliffe High School to take part in a buskathon to raise money for the schools Ravenscliffe@SpringHall campaign.

The community drive to build a new sixth form and community centre at Halifax’s Spring Hall athletics track is now in the second stage of its fundraising challenge and aims to raise £500,000 towards the cost of specially equipping the building.

A group of the Skircoat Green high school students performed a collection of songs with former Ravenscliffe head teacher Mike Hirst. The day raised £250 in public donations towards the school campaign.

Head teacher Martin Moorman thanked the store for welcoming the school.
