A SCHOOL will raise funds with a silent auction offering lots including nine gallons of beer.

Warley Town School is trying to renovate an unused outbuilding as part of its Warley Warmly Welcomes the Community Project.

The new building will be used for after-school clubs, holiday clubs and extra teaching space as well as being used by the community.

Lots on offer at the auction apart from the ale include a weekend cottage retreat, Victoria Theatre pantomime tickets, meal vouchers and a Toshiba LCD TV.

Grant applications have been submitted for the project but staff and governors hope the silent auction will kick start the fundraising.

Anne Stead, Acting Head Teacher at Warley Town School, said: “We have been delighted by the generosity of local businesses and parents in providing these fantastic prizes.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the local community to show their support, by helping to raise funds, for this new community building.”

The silent auction is open to anyone and the lots were on show yesterday.

Auction brochures are available from the school or can be downloaded from the school’s website www.warleytown.org.uk

Completed bid forms from the brochure need to be returned in a sealed envelope to the school office at Warley Town School, Dark Lane, Warley, HX2 7QD by noon on April 13.
