MUSIC rang out as a primary school choir graduated to Calderdale College for a recording session.

Children from Bolton Brow School in Sowerby Bridge laid down one of their favourite songs, Holding Me, in the college’s recording studio.

The tune was penned by Year 3 teacher Cath Binns and features a solo from Year 6 pupil Elodie McGhee as well as vocals from around 35 choirmates.

Ms Binns said: “Bolton Brow Choir is a very important part of our school life.

“As well as performing in school shows and concerts we love to build on our existing relationships with our local community by performing at events, nursing homes, local restaurants and with local high schools.

“When we were offered an opportunity to record at Calderdale College we were extremely excited.”

“We love singing together and realise we have something special to give to others.

“As one of our youngest choir members is quoted as saying, ‘I think when the choir sings we heal people’s hearts’. We’re very proud and happy to have opportunities to do so,” said Ms Binns.
