Forecasters say we will be splashing on the suncream with temperatures set to soar.
There will be plenty of sunshine over the next few days with temperatures expected to reach 22C (71.6F) tomorrow (Fri)- and it will be slighter hotter on Saturday and Sunday.
The good weather continues into next week when temperatures should reach 24C (75.2F) on Monday.
The return of summer will have many lighting their barbecues but for those wanting to venture further than their garden there are plenty of options.
Tomorrow sees the start of the Halifax Festival and on Saturday from noon events take place in the Piece Hall and Woolshops Shopping Centre which include an acrobat suspended beneath a giant balloon at the Piece Hall.
Community groups organsing outdoor events have hit the jackpot weather wise with Elland Carnival and Shelf Gala both on Saturday.
There are also a host of other events from summer fairs to a 25th anniversary barbecue for Stainland Lions Running Club at West Vale.
On Sunday there is the Ripponden Community Market, Lightcliffe Gala, and the return of Halifax RLFC to the Shay following pitch improvement works.
Entertainment at the Shay starts in the East Stand car park from noon with live music.
