A local scout group have been awarded their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh and the Platinum Explorer Scout badge for six months of voluntary work, learning new skills, finishing an expedition in the Yorkshire Dales and camping for six nights as a unit.

The Cambodunum Explorer Scouts, based at Outlane, received their awards last week and are already planning further expeditions for the for the Gold Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Scouts Awards.

Assistant Explorer Scout Leader, Hayley Hudson, said: “We are really proud of these individuals who have received their awards as it will help them develop in later life.”
