Various items of significant sentimental value have been stolen from a house on Clough Lane, Mixenden.
These included seven World War Two medals which were awarded to the owner’s father. The medals were still in their presentation boxes with accompanying photographs and certificates engraved ‘Ernest Smith’.
Also taken was a hunter pocket watch with a double Albert sovereign and distinctive widow’s clasp, assorted pre-decimal coins and a mahogany sewing box.
Three watches were also stolen. One was a gold lady’s wrist watch and the other two were gold mens’ wrist watches. One was engraved ‘British Rail 25 Years Service’ and the other was engraved ‘John MacKintosh 25 Years Service’.
Police are appealing for anyone offered some distinctive items for sale sometime in the last month to contact them on 101.
