THIS woolly jumper ended up behind “baas” after escaping from its field.
Police received a call from a concerned member of the public reporting a sheep on the loose in Warley Road, Halifax.
The caller was worried the sheep may cause an accident or be hurt.
PCSOs Heidi Gouldsborough and Philippa Taylor were nearby and soon found the sheep wandering in the road.
As soon as they pulled up and opened the police van doors, the sheep leapt in.
Inspector Simon Spencer, who leads Halifax Central neighbourhood policing team, said the PCSOs were just considering how to return the sheep to its owner when a man came down the road, saying: “That’s my sheep!”
The sheep left a small “present” for officers in the cage of the police van before it was reunited with its owner.
