Three sheep have been enjoying a mini tour of the town this morning (Saturday).

The police have received numerous calls about the three black sheep that are believed to have escaped from a farm in Southowram.

The first call was received at 8.37am about three black sheep being seen on Burdock Way. They told police that motorist were having to manoeuvre around them until they ran into the middle of Orange Street roundabout.

They were then spotted taking a stroll up towards King Cross and again at Pellon Lane near to Range where they were seen eating grass.

The police received further calls of the sheep causing a stir as they walked off towards Burnley Road.

They congregated near to Halifax Police Station.

The owner has been notified after the sheep escaped from the farm after jumping over a wall.

The first of the pictures was sent in by Matt Dowlan who saw them taking in the scenery along the dual carriageway and the second by Carrie Chapman who saw them enjoying a snack on the roundabout.

She tweeted: “Anyone lost some sheep lol they seem happy in middle of dual carriageway.”
