Dog owners were out in number at the Lurcher Link family fun day.

Hundreds of people attended the show, which was held at Manor Heath Park on Sunday afternoon and raised £2,068 for the organisation.

As well as being a show for dogs of all breeds and cross breeds, there was a fancy dress competition, a toy tombola, craft stalls and a hook-a-bag stall.

There was also ferret racing and face painting for families to enjoy.

It was the first year of the Lurcher Link show and Fiona Delahunty, a volunteer for Lurcher Link who helped organise the day, said they would definitely be running it again next year.

“I said before we started that if we raised £200 and the day went well then I’d be happy, so to raise £2,000 is just amazing.”

“We had no idea what to expect or how many people would come, but it went really well and we’d like to thank everyone who was involved.”

The Lurcher Link takes in unwanted Lurchers and helps to find them new homes.

Lurcher’s often require expensive orthopedic treatment, so the money will go towards vet bills.
